Södra, Sweden, reported this week that it will raise the price of its softwood pulps by $30 per metric ton to $960 per metric ton. The price increase is effective beginning May 1. "Södra's deliveries of pulp are at a high level and stocks are very low. Our outlook for the second quarter is a strong market," said Ulf Edman, president of Södra Cell International.
