Packaging Graphics LLC, Pawtucket, R.I., USA, reports that it has extended a licensing agreement with MeadWestvaco for its Natralock security packaging products. Under the agreement, Packaging Graphics will use MeadWestvaco's Natralock technology to manufacture and market theft-deterrent packaging products in North America until the year 2015.

Packaging Graphics has had a licensing agreement with Meadwestvaco for Natralock since 2007. Since that time, the company has produced Natralock packaging for customers in almost every retail market, including home and personal care, cosmetics, electronics, and office products.

Natralock security packaging features a proprietary tear-resistant paperboard that can be RF-sealed, with approximately one-third the energy required for plastic clamshells, or heat-sealed on most existing equipment. Offered in both SBS and CNK grades, Natralock paperboard can include 30% to 50% recycled content, is a renewable, easy-to-recycle material that reduces the use of plastic by 50% to 60%, and provides superior price stability. The glare-free billboard can be custom designed to differentiate consumer products and supports high quality reproduction for bolder graphics and special printing effects to enhance branding.
