Propapier Brings New Containerboard Machine Online at German Greenfield Mill

Propapier GmbH has brought its new Metso-supplied linerboard and fluting grades machine online at Eisenhüttenstadt, Germany, near the Polish border. The new PM 2 line at the greenfield mill has a capacity of 650,000 metric tpy producing 70-130 g/m² containerboards. The 10.85-m wide OptiConcept paper machine has a design speed of 1,900 m/min.

Propapier is part of Progroup, a group of companies providing products and services for the corrugated board-processing industry. Before startup of the Eisenhüttenstadt mill, the company was producing 320,000 metric tpy of testliner and corrugated medium. With the startup of PM 2, production at Progroup's two paper mills will approach one million metric tpy of containerboard.
