SCA Production, Delivery of FSC-Certified Publication Papers Rises

SCA, Sweden, reports that its Ortviken, Sweden, and Laakirchen, Australia, paper mills produced 45% more FSC-certified publication paper in 2009 than in 2008. "The greatest demand for FSC-certified publication paper is in Sweden, Britain, and Germany, Jan Knuts, head of LWC paper production at SCA, says, adding that "it also grew in France during the year." The company points out that customer interest in FSC-certified publication paper is still growing. Some 14% of publication paper deliveries from SCA's Ortviken and Laakirchen mills in 2009 were FSC-certified, thus meeting the Forest Stewardship Council's standards for wood raw material from forests that are responsibly managed.
