Coated recycled board prices in North America rose for the second time in the past four months, up $30/ton (proposed = $40/ton) to $790/ton in January, Wilde says. The price hike was driven by unseasonably strong demand, higher operating rates (97.4% in early Feb), lower inventory levels, and higher OCC (+$70/ton since last November), and energy costs.
