Pregis Corp., Deerfield, Ill., USA, reported this week that its Hexacomb business unit will increase the price on all grades and sizes of its paper-based product line, effective with shipments on or after March 1. Hexacomb pricing will increase 8% in the eastern U.S. and Canada and 11% in the western U.S., Canada, and Mexico. The company notes that many of Hexacomb's raw material suppliers increased their pricing in January, with the rest announcing upward pricing adjustments effective in February. The increases are due to constrained supply, expanding export demand, and upward pricing pressure from wood, recycled content, and chemicals.
