U.S. corrugated and solid fiber box manufacturing revenues for 2008 were approximately $33.7 billion, with an estimated gross profit of 15.6%, according to Research and Markets' (Dublin, Ireland) recently released report titled Corrugated and Solid Box Manufacturing in the U.S. and its International Trade. Import was valued at $362.2 million from 73 countries. The industry also exported $1.2 billion worth of merchandise to 110 countries. Adding import value to and subtracting export value from the industry's shipment value, the total domestic demand for the industry in 2008 was $33.0 billion. More information is available online.
