Zhumadianshi to Install New Fine Paper Machine in China

The new machine, to be supplied by Voith Paper of Germany, will be installed at the company's mill located some 900 km southwest of Peking. The new Baiyun PM 8, with a wire width of 5,850 mm, is designed for a maximum speed of 1,400 m/min. It will produce papers in a basis weight range from 60 to 120 g/m² with a maximum output of 800 metric tpd. Annual production capacity of the machine is more than 200,000 metric tons. The stock feed to the machine will contain 15% straw pulp. The scope of Voith's supply covers a MasterJet F headbox with ModuleJet dilution water control, a forming section with DuoFormer D, a Tandem-NipcoFlex Press, a TopDuoRun pre-dryer section, a SpeedSizer AT, a CombiDuoRun after-dryer section, a 1x2 EcoSoft calender, a MasterReel, and a VariFit winder. Engineering work required for the project as well as machine clothing, roll covers, and SkyLine doctor blades are also included in the scope of supply. The mill will also use a Voith Automation package, including C&I, hydraulic, pneumatic, and machine-oriented control. A quality management system as well as a machine and technology monitoring system, a camera, and an information system are also included in the order. Startup of PM 8 is expected in April 2011.

Zhumadianshi Baiyun Paper was formed in 1999 and has been part of the Henan Investment Group (HIG) since 2003. In addition to Baiyun Paper, the paper sector of HIG also includes the Puyang Longfeng and Jiaozuo Runfeng paper mills. The Baiyun Paper Mill will produce 100,000 metric tpy of copy paper and 50,000 metric tpy of straw pulp.
