A Note From The President

Director of Education, Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA)
2010-2011 President, MPI Potomac Chapter

PMPI strives to offer you a variety of ways to become engaged in the chapter. To highlight just a few of these opportunities taking place in the next month, we will be kicking off our spring CMP (11 week) study group on April 18 for those preparing to take the CMP exam. On April 27, be sure to invite your friends and colleagues who are in town for ASAE’s Springtime to the House of Sweden for our luncheon educational program on Accelerating Your Business Innovation.

Last but not least, on May 3, prepare to be wowed as PMPI, in conjunction with our friends at the Louisville CVB, bring all the action and excitement of the Derby to DC.

I look forward to seeing you at one of the many opportunities highlighted in this month’s Potomac Connections. Continue to make the most out of your membership, stay connected and engaged and follow us on: , , and .

Mr. Wooten’s presentation provided students with tips for transitioning into the workforce, including dos and don’ts for resume writing and interviewing. To conclude the session the students were separated into groups led by PMPI members Tamala Blalock, Tammy Kockaya, Amy O'Malley and Katie Herritage to have their questions answered. The small groups allowed the members and students to have pointed conversations and establish relationships. All in all this was a very successful event. If you wish to contribute to future Student Information Sessions, please do not hesitate to reach out to the Student Relations Committee Chairs.

Events Coming Up:

July 23-26 WEC 2011 - Orlando, Florida October 11-13

IMEX America - Las Vegas, Nevada

MPI is bringing the energy of attendee-generated content to WEC 2011 through March Madness, a bracket-style system where members can vote on the programming they want to experience during Brain Time at WEC 2011.

MPI chapters submitted sessions for consideration that were held in their respective areas. PMPI’s November LE, "Something Needs to Change Around Here – You!" was selected as one of the 22 sessions represented in March Madness! This highly praised learning experience will go head to head with "4 Generations in the Workplace" in Match 1 of the contest, and we need your vote to help push it toward becoming the overall winner of March Madness!

Voting begins on April 13 and a new voting period begins each week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8 a.m. CDT. Voting is open to members only and you may only vote once per voting period.

The chapter with the most votes cast will receive $500.00 toward chapter education as well as Meeting Madness recognition on-site at WEC. In addition, for every vote you cast in each voting period, you will receive one entry into the grand prize drawing

For more information about March Madness and how to cast your vote click here: "Something Needs to Change Around Here – You"

Don’t delay, as the voting for this match-up begins on April 13!  You have a voice for the content represented at WEC 2011 so vote today! Are you game?
