You can also roam our wonderful venue, the Hilton Embassy Row in Washington, D.C. We’re gathering on the rooftop, so soak up some rays and hang out by the pool (weather permitting!). The hotel is centrally located, and just a block from the Dupont Circle metro station.


Part of the setting will be our COMMITTEE FAIR! Learn about the various committees that are responsible for chapter events and education. Representatives from each committee will be available to discuss their role within the chapter. There is sure to be at least one committee that is a perfect fit for you!

Join us on September 23, 2010, as we hear from Patrick O’Malley who will discuss just how social media can be one of your strongest tools. Patrick will teach us how to effectively use the social media outlets. He will not only teach us how to use them professionally, but he’ll also throw in a few fun personal approaches as well. Don’t miss this great speaker discuss this overwhelmingly popular topic as it relates directly to the meetings industry.


Want to learn more about being involved in PMPI? A special member orientation will take place at 3:00 p.m. prior to the Learning Experience Program to help acclimate you to the organization. Please join us for orientation and learn how to maximize your involvement with the association.

To prepare for the exam, mark your calendar to sign-up for the fall CMP exam prep study group. The 10-week study session will begin on Tuesday, October 12, and continue every Monday thereafter from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Information about location and fees will be sent out via Cvent once confirmed.

We are looking for facilitators who have expertise in the topics contained in the CMP exam and who are interest in assisting your colleagues in their study and preparation for the January 8th exam. All facilitators will receive support and resources from CIC and PMPI to prepare to teach their session in addition to CMP credit. The Children's Inn at NIH is a private, nonprofit, family-centered residence established to keep children together with their families while the children participate in ground-breaking medical research for serious illnesses at the NIH. There is no charge for a family to stay at The Inn.

Since opening in June of 1990, The Inn has hosted more than 10,000 families from all 50 states and 74 countries. The Inn has the capacity to house up to 59 families per night. In fiscal year 2008, 1,400 children and their families called The Inn home.

These young patients range in age from birth to young adulthood. They face medical challenges such as cancer, heart, lung, growth and blood diseases and mental disorders that lack successful treatment and are only researched and treated at NIH.
