Spotlight
Probably two of the goals you set for your MPI membership are professional education and networking opportunities. Fortunately, your objectives align with the goals of the MPI Potomac chapter’s Publications Committee. Through our publications, we aim to enhance your career development while keeping you informed of all chapter networking and educational events.

You are reading one of the regular deliverables of the Publications team. FYI is delivered monthly to your email inbox so that the information is timely. Engage is our bi-monthly publication that focuses on important industry trends and noteworthy chapter developments, as illustrated by our ever popular "New Members" and "On the Move" sections.

The Publications Committee gives you a chance to see how the world of journalism operates. The team starts at the very beginning by developing topics that are timely and pertinent to the chapter membership. Then, there is the challenge of finding writers for the articles. If you can write – we need you! However, if you do not write you can still be of great assistance to the team. Every issue has a publishing calendar, and it is the job of the committee’s leaders to make sure that important deadlines are met. When the articles are received, the committee rolls up its sleeves and reviews the proofs provided by Naylor Publishing. The team keeps an eye on all aspects of the issue from text to formatting. Publications loves perfectionists!

So if you always wondered what it would be like to be part of the press – consider joining the Publications Committee!
