For the second year in a row, the HHCA’s Young Leaders Group (YLG) organized HHCA's participation in Safety Week. The HHCA’s Young Leaders Group again took part in the Steps for Life fundraising walk in support of Threads of Life on Sunday May 5, 2019.

Threads of Life supports the healing journey of families who have suffered from a workplace fatality, traumatic life-altering injury, or occupational disease.

The YLG hosted a SAFETY EDITION YLG talk on Tuesday May 7, 2019. The complimentary event took place at Budget Demolition’s Training Facility, where attendees heard from Paul Lay about the Molson Coors Program for mental health. Paul talked about how his team has been instrumental in bringing mental health initiatives into their workplace. Attendees also heard from Uwe Shaible on the use of RFID technology for Safety. Uwe and his team are dedicated to bringing high tech RFID-based worker safety solutions on to the construction site.

The HHCA held a morning session at Carmen’s Banquet Centre on Internal Accident Investigation 101 on Thursday, May 9, 2019. The event featured a panel of guest speakers from companies who participated in the Regional Construction Safety Group. The practical session provided information and best practices should an accident occur on your construction site, and covered a wide range of topics.
