OGCA and the League of Champions were privileged to tour the Newton Group facility in Guelph on Friday, March 23. What a great day!

Newton Group Founder and President, Edwin (Ed) Newton conducted the tour alongside Vice President Meri Shepheard. Clive Thurston and Andrea George learned about parking structure pre-fabrication, solar panel solutions, and more.

In the afternoon, staff and guests met at the Frank Hasenfratz Centre for Excellence in Manufacturing, a state-of-the-art facility that Newton Group built for Linamar Corporation in 2009.

Senior management presented two of its employees with peer-nominated awards for safety and leadership. The celebration of safety continued with a talk by Rob Ellis, MySafeWork. He congratulated Newton Group and its team for its commitment to health & safety in the workplace and for striving to build a safety culture.

David Frame rounded out the event with a discussion on OGCA’s Safety Pass initiative, which is set to launch publically during Safety Week, May 7-11.
