General Contractors Alliance of Canada Update

The Bruce Reynolds / Sharon Vogel document on the Federal proposals has been released and the GCAC team, led by Paul Raboud, is working hard to meet the tight time table for a response.

GCAC Chair Matt Ainley is actively talking to other Provincial GC representatives and working to establish our base throughout the country. He made overtures to the NTCCC to arrange a meeting to bring the Trades and Generals together to work in a more collaborative manner. The NTCCC has responded in a most positive manner and we are currently arranging those dates.

Last week, I had the honour of attending the CEGQ's 21st AGM and speaking to their membership on the GCAC and OGCA and our role in Ontario.

After the presentation, I was asked to meet with a few of their Board and discuss our mutual problems and possible solutions. It was a great meeting. We have much in common and recognize the need for a strong voice for General Contractors, and that by working together, there is much more we can achieve. I look forward to more interaction with our Quebec friends soon.

Stay tuned to the Newsletter and OGCA website for updates and webinars on this and the Bill 142 regulations. Learn from those who were actually at the table on how both these initiatives are going to affect your business.
