The program includes a Safety Award Program that supports and recognizes positive behaviours, and encourages reporting of near miss incidents.
The Subcontractor Management and Development Initiative assists and supports their subcontractors to improve their OH&S programs and performance.
ED Management now leads by example by becoming actively involved and measuring and discussing safety at all management meetings. Safety discussions are now integrated into the business, including measuring leading indicators of actions taken to prevent incidents.
The program is a great example as to how firms can use the League of Champions principles and implement programs and activities that turn the intention into actions. The program was launched in Ottawa on May 3 and has since included events in Toronto, Halifax, Winnipeg, Calgary and Vancouver among others.
