Perspective is the way individuals see the world. It comes from their personal point of view and is shaped by life experiences, values, their current state of mind, the assumptions they bring into a situation, and a whole lot of other things.

Reality can be different things. We can easily say that my perspective is my reality. There is truth to that statement. When we look at the shared reality of an event, though, the more perspectives you get, the closer to reality you get. As a leader, do you consider your own perspective as reality?

There is no debate that in today’s chaotic and "high-flying" environment, the role of a leader can present many daunting challenges. Yet that same ecosystem can offer significant opportunities for a leader to excel in their role and have a critical impact.

It all comes down to the strategy the leader utilizes to "ground" their perspective in relation to their environment, their organization, their team and themselves. One approach I apply with myself and my clients is to practice the "3 'Be’s' of Leadership."

Great Leadership
Conflict in the workplace – or anywhere - is inevitable. Conflict is part of being human. Some people are more comfortable with it than others, and some people tend to be "conflict carriers."

Ultimately, it’s part of a manager’s job to deal with workplace conflict head-on. Ignoring it will only make matters worse, and will eventually impact team productivity, results, employee satisfaction, and the manager’s reputation.

Mobile marketing is different than other methods of marketing because it lets businesses get directly in front of customers on devices they use all the time – tablets and smartphones. From mobile check-ins to text messages, to emails and social media, mobile marketing may help small businesses boost sales when they send coupons or offer discounts, sales, or promotions to customers. It’s smart to reach out to customers on the devices they constantly have in their hand – this is why mobile marketing can impact both online shoppers and walk-in customers, too.

Effective leaders motivate others. That’s a key tool of a leader who knows how to lead well. When a leader creates and maintains momentum by their ideas, their ingenuity, and their actions, the rest of their team falls naturally into their rhythm. And that’s when the great work is accomplished.

But in any business, there are times when you are high on the mountaintops and times when you’re in the valley. So what’s a leader to do when bad news has to be shared?
