NRMCA recently joined the Idaho Concrete and Aggregate Producers Association (ICAPA) in sponsoring a program in Boise titled "Performance Based Concrete and Concrete Overlays For Parking Lots." NRMCA Vice President, Local Paving, Don Clem, PE,  provided several presentations on concrete parking lots, including overlays, as well as the NRMCA DAP program. Clint Hoops, a structural materials engineer for the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD), provided a presentation entitled "Performance Based Concrete." More than 20 professionals from ready mixed concrete, testing, admixtures, contractors and other firms attended the program. Daryn S. Bundtrock, a sales manager for NRMCA Producer member GB Redi-Mix, ICAPA president and NRMCA Board of Directors member organized the seminar.

A Lunch 'N Learn Seminar on "What’s New in the Concrete Industry" was also held on November 3 at ALLWEST Testing and Engineering, reports Clem. Participants included several representatives of ALLWEST as well as representatives of the Ada County Highway District. Grant Green, senior sales representative, and Matt Wood, LEED AP, sustainable products and Promotion Manager, Ash Grove Cement Company, organized the Lunch 'N Learn Seminar. In addition, Green, Wood and Clem visited with several civil engineering professors at Boise State University to better understand how the cement/ concrete industry can support the university’s civil engineering program.
