With the support of resiliency champions Senator Roy Blunt (R-MO) and Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL), along with Congressmen Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL-25), and Daniel Webster (R-FL-10), NRMCA, the Portland Cement Association and the Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute hosted an education session for congressional staff this past Monday to inform them of the importance of community resilience in the face of increasing natural disasters. Industry experts and congressional allies, including Senate Environment and Public Works staff, discussed how common sense federal solutions, including promotion of resilient construction, can save lives and taxpayer dollars, especially in communities prone to natural disasters.

This event was part of NRMCA’s first DC Days, a series of Capitol Hill bipartisan dialogues among industry officials and lawmakers.
