New York Electric Utility Experiments with Concrete Power Poles

New York State Electric & Gas has recently installed its first concrete utility poles in the Town of Patterson in Putnam County and Town of Bethel in Sullivan County. Concrete poles can potentially last longer than traditional wooden poles and have a good record of withstanding wind, ice and snow.
