Pros and Cons Discussed on Using Lightweight Concrete for Projects

"Despite the moisture-related challenges that lightweight concrete poses, properly designed and constructed lightweight concrete floor slabs offer a number of efficiencies over normal-weight concrete slabs that project teams should consider," write four engineers in an industry magazine story posted this month. In this article, they look at some of the problems with using the material, but also explain why it can be better than normal-weight slabs.
