News From National

NPMA recently hosted a webinar to announce our issues for Legislative Day 2017. This year, NPMA members will be conveying four critical issues to the legislators concerning the structural pest management industry.

1.) Eliminate unnecessary and burdensome NPDES permits.

2.) Modernize the Endangered Species Act to better protect species and maintain the availability of valuable pesticides to protect public health.

3.) Ensure adequate funding for EPA Office of Pesticide Programs to perform statutory mandated registration and review of pesticides.

4.) Lower corporate tax rates and allow these companies to reinvest in themselves and their employees.

NPMA will cover these issues in depth during the Monday afternoon issues briefing and the Public Policy committee meeting at Legislative Day. We hope to see you there!

Scientists are one step closer to predicting the non-native range of the tawny crazy ant, Nylanderia fulva. Native to South America, this ant has invaded most southeastern US states where its large colonies have displaced native species and have become a major disturbance to homeowners.

Fireback's dual "spray & straw" applicator
Fireback’s new double-strike applicator targets both visible and hidden pests. The permanently attached hinged flip-up straw reaches listed pests hiding in cracks and crevices. Flip it down to expose the opening for a normal spray. Fireback kills on contact and provides a 3-month residual. Use it for 29 listed pests.
