Rob McKinney, founder, Construction App Guru, gives IT professionals the rundown of the AGC Technology and Construction Solutions Expo that took place last week as part of AGC's 97th Annual Convention in San Antonio, Texas. There were dozens of great technology companies in attendance at the convention and there were vendors conducting demos of great hardware, software and apps. The following are his construction technology highlights that he discovered while visiting the booths.

Thanks to technology, better designs and working practices, construction sites have never been safer or more efficient. However, there is always room for improvement, and the advent of wearable technology and data science is set to change the nature of the construction site once again.

This week Apple will finally introduce its long-rumored and highly anticipated iPhone SE. And while the iPhone SE unveiling obviously won't attract as much attention as, say, the upcoming iPhone 7, Apple's media event next week can't come soon enough for users who have been patiently waiting endlessly for a new 4-inch iPhone packed with Apple's most advanced technologies. For years, Internet giants, including Google and Facebook, have warned about the importance of using HTTPS, a secure Internet protocol that encrypts your traffic and makes it a lot harder for anyone to eavesdrop on your communications.
