AGC of America announced recently that it is joining the national Hiring Our Heroes program as part of the construction industry’s effort to add 100,000 veterans over the next five years. The new partnership will make it easier for construction contractors to find, recruit and hire veterans, association officials added. Read the full press release here.

Hiring Our Heroes offers webinars for employers. These interactive online sessions cover a range of topics, including employer best practices, sponsored by USAA - insight from experienced trainers on recruiting, hiring, and retaining veterans; military 101 - a recruiter/HR manager's guide to navigating the military infrastructure; and wounded veteran employment webinars - a comprehensive guide to employing veterans with disabilities.

In addition, Hiring Our Heroes offers employment workshops in conjunction with hundreds of our hiring fairs. These workshops are designed to help veterans and military spouses and include resume writing, interview skills, and one-on-one mentoring. AGC members can sign up to participate in the jobs fairs for free.
