The funding may be used for the implementation and operation of 9-1-1 services, E9-1-1 services, migration to an IP-enabled emergency network, and adoption and operation of Next Generation 9-1-1 services and applications.
All States, the District of Columbia, U.S. Territories and Tribal Organizations are eligible for a grant and are encouraged to apply.
Additional assistance to understand grant requirements and complete the application process will be available via webinars on August 21st, 23rd, and 27th.

EED brings the benefits of Apple’s Hybridized Emergency Location or HELO to millions of users and thousands of PSAPs in the U.S. using a fast and secure Next Generation 9-1-1 path.
Apple has prepared this White Paper to help explain how HELO and EED work, to answer many of the common questions received from PSAP personnel since the announcement, and so that as many public safety professionals as possible can learn about this new feature and enable it prior to the public launch.
