This June, Apple announced a new Enhanced Emergency Data (EED) feature launching later this fall with iOS 12. EED brings the benefits of Apple’s Hybridized Emergency Location or HELO to millions of users and thousands of PSAPs in the U.S. using a fast and secure Next Generation 9-1-1 path.

Apple has prepared this White Paper to help explain how HELO and EED work, to answer many of the common questions received from PSAP personnel since the announcement, and so that as many public safety professionals as possible can learn about this new feature and enable it prior to the public launch.
