The 911 Grant Program provides grant funding to support state and local efforts to deliver optimal 9-1-1 services. The funding may be used for the implementation and operation of 9-1-1 services, E9-1-1 services, migration to an IP-enabled emergency network, and adoption and operation of Next Generation 9-1-1 services and applications. All States, the District of Columbia, U.S. Territories and Tribal Organizations are eligible for a grant and are encouraged to apply. Additional assistance to understand grant requirements and complete the application process will be available via webinars on August 21st, 23rd, and 27th. Learn more about the grant program and apply online here.This June, Apple announced a new Enhanced Emergency Data (EED) feature launching later this fall with iOS 12. EED brings the benefits of Apple’s Hybridized Emergency Location or HELO to millions of users and thousands of PSAPs in the U.S. using a fast and secure Next Generation 9-1-1 path. Apple has prepared this White Paper to help explain how HELO and EED work, to answer many of the common questions received from PSAP personnel since the announcement, and so that as many public safety professionals as possible can learn about this new feature and enable it prior to the public launch. The NENA Managers Guide to ADA Title II: Direct Access is a standard designed to assist managers in bringing PSAPs into compliance with the ADA and defines standards of operation that are essential for PSAPs to comply with Federal ADA mandates. As this is the second public review for this document, only the yellow-highlighted substantive edits are open for comment. Click here to download the document and submit your comments. All comments are due by midnight Eastern on August 24, 2018. Contact the NENA Committee Resource Manager with any questions or concerns. Having adjudicated all comments, the subject document is now considered "stable." Per NENA IPR, Section 4.5 a "Stable Form Notice" is being issued and can be seen by clicking here.
