Ben is Back is a major Hollywood drama starring Julia Roberts as the mother of an addict son. The filmmakers are looking to obtain 9-1-1 recordings made specifically for opioid overdoses that will play over the end credits of the film. To help spread awareness of this growing epidemic, the filmmakers are weaving together voices of real people suffering from drug-related tragedies across the country.

In addition to audio of emergency calls that can be used legally, the filmmakers are also hoping to gain access to the corresponding dispatch reports containing information that may help the production team contact the caller. Out of respect for privacy and the traumatic nature of these calls, the filmmakers will be asking for permission to use the recordings. No names or personal information will be used, so anonymity will remain intact.

Ideally, calls and reports would be submitted to Bevan Thomas from Midwinter Pictures by August 1.

Document Announcements

The NENA NG9-1-1 Call Processing Metrics Standard defines normalized NG9‑1‑1 call processing metrics for computing useful statistics so that independent implementations can derive the same comparable measurements. Call processing metrics are measurements between events in the call processing chain and are used to drive reporting, analysis, and real‑time monitoring.

The NENA E9-1-1 PSAP Equipment Standard defines the PSAP equipment requirements intended for use by users, manufacturers, and providers of E9‑1‑1 Customer Premises Equipment (CPE). This document is only applicable to E9‑1‑1 systems. NG9‑1‑1 systems have different requirements and meet different NENA standards. An NG9‑1‑1 LPG (Legacy PSAP Gateway) would be expected to conform with the E9‑1‑1 PSAP interfaces described in this document.

Having adjudicated all comments, the subject documents are now considered "stable." Per NENA IPR, Section 4.5 a "Stable Form Notice" is being issued for each and can be seen by clicking here
