General Dynamics Information Technology

Consider a world where 9-1-1 calls automatically reroute in the event of a PSAP failure or overload... where additional data associated with the call describes, in an instant, the source and type of the call... where dynamic queue analytics identify areas of high calling and sort likely duplicate calls to the bottom of the answering queue... where the ability exists to pass along video and audio from the scene to responders effortlessly... where a fully-redundant "system of systems" links PSAPs and all 9-1-1 calls are answered in a timely manner by a trained dispatcher—no matter what the condition or emergency... This is the world of Next Generation 9-1-1.

At NENA’s NG9-1-1 Standards & Best Practices Conference, January 15-18 in Orlando, you will gain an understanding of the world that is made possible by Next Generation 9-1-1 and help make it so.

And we've just released full details of the more than two dozen sessions at SBP where you’ll discuss and work to address the most pressing NG-related issues. Click here to check 'em out!

Presenting a session at NENA 2018 is an excellent opportunity to share your knowledge and experience with an enthusiastic audience of 9-1-1 professionals who are eager to gain and share information. To meet the expectations and needs of our attendees, your session must be engaging, informative and applicable to a diverse audience with a wide range of professional and personal backgrounds.

Your proposal will be evaluated by how well the session will deliver practical skills, knowledge and resources that meet one of the following audience needs:

  • Empower attendees to overcome issues they are dealing with today;
  • Prepare attendees for near-term issues for which they should be planning; or
  • Challenge attendees to think about advances in technology and public safety that may one day impact 9-1-1, and what that means for them right now.

NENA is issuing a challenge to each chapter to increase the number of ENPs in the state (or province) between now and this coming June! The two winning chapters will each receive one free ENP Application (valued at $420) for either the Winter 2019 or Spring 2019 exam window. Here’s how it works:

  • Each newly-certified ENP during the Fall '17, Winter '18, and Spring '18 exam periods will be counted toward the chapter total.
  • The chapter with the most new ENPs and the chapter that has the highest proportional increase in ENPs will each win.
  • Winners will be announced at the NENA 2018 Conference & Expo in June.
Now it's time to get out there and start promoting the ENP Certification Program! Good luck!
