NASCAR Team Honors America's 9-1-1 Professionals

On Sunday March 2, Team Penske’s No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford Fusion carried a "Friends of 9-1-1" decal during "The Profit on CNBC 500, Presented by Small Business Fueling America," at Phoenix International Raceway. A group of 9-1-1 professionals got the chance to tour the Team Penske pit and met the car’s talented driver, Joey Logano, who finished the race 4th after leading the pack  for 71 laps.

Before the race, Logano commented, "I’m honored to feature the Friends of 9-1-1 program on my car during the race. 9-1-1 professionals help keep Americans safe every day, and I hope folks in the stands and watching at home will be inspired to join me in saying ‘thank you’ to these unsung heroes of emergency response."

Established in 2013 by NENA, Friends of 9-1-1 develops scholarships, continuing education opportunities, and wellness programs for America's 9-1-1 professionals, who are charged with answering more than 250 million 9-1-1 calls every year.
