National 911 Program Update: Cybersecurity, Analytics, & NG9-1-1 Standards

New NG911 Cybersecurity Resource Available 
To guide the improvement of NG9-1-1 system cybersecurity nationwide, the Department of Transportation and the Department of Homeland Security Office of Emergency Communications recently released a new tool that provides an overview of potential cyber risks to NG9-1-1 and ways to mitigate them. The NG911 Cybersecurity Primer is an important part of strategic planning and a must-read for system administrators.  

Effort to Gather 9-1-1 Statistics Underway 
The 911 Profile Database collection effort begins April 1st. All 56 states and territories are encouraged to participate and share their data to help provide an accurate picture of the current state of 9-1-1 systems. To learn more about the collection effort and submit your data, click here

2015 NG9-1-1 Standards Compilation Updated 
As the nation continues to make progress toward NG9-1-1, numerous organizations are developing standards to ensure interoperability among public safety jurisdictions at all levels. These standards have been compiled into the Next Generation 911 Standards Identification and Review, released this past March.
