NENA Announces Ty Wooten, ENP as Director of Education & Operational Issues

Last week, NENA announced that Ty Wooten, ENP has joined the NENA staff as the association’s new Director of Education and Operational Issues. 

In his new role, Wooten will oversee projects related to current, emerging, and prospective issues affecting 9-1-1 authority and 9-1-1 center personnel, with a strong focus on preparing these stakeholders for Next Generation 9-1-1 implementations. Wooten will also work with the developers of consumer and enterprise communications products and applications that may interface with public safety systems, to ensure that they are designed and deployed with the needs of current and future 9-1-1 systems in mind. In addition, Wooten will manage the development and delivery of education and training programs for both technical and operational audiences, spanning all levels of the 9-1-1 hierarchy – from front-line telecommunicators to supervisors, managers, and 9-1-1 authority administrators.
