Quality in the distinguished career of Desmond Howard takes many forms in the development of his brand, in his words, "I’ve lived a lot of life."

Start with the legendary 1991 game winning catch as wide receiver at the University of Michigan against Notre Dame en route to earning the Heisman Trophy.

Howard was voted the Most Valuable Player of Super Bowl XXXI and reigns as the first and currently the only special teams player to win the award.

Howard’s journey of high standards transitioned as an in-studio personality and, in 2005, began traveling to marquee matchup sites during the season for the Emmy award-winning pre-game show ESPN College Gameday.

"After football I wanted to do something in television with my communications degree from the University of Michigan. ESPN reached out and landed the job," said Howard. "My experiences in football in teamwork and the merits of humility guided my professional development as a sportscaster. I wanted to learn how to be the best and respected this was an entirely different skillset. I had outstanding athletic credentials but wanted to excel so I worked my way up from field assignments to the sports desk."

Howard said hard work and preparation gives you the confidence needed to achieve greatness.  "When assigned a difficult task, view it as an opportunity to show your greatness, and do things people may think you can’t achieve," Howard advised.  "Life will throw you curve balls, have the ability to adjust. Have faith that it’s your moment to shine."
