From the Institutes Luncheon: The Innovation Whiteboard Challenge®

The NBMBAA Institutes Luncheon held Wednesday proved to be an energetic platform to recognize partnership, leadership and innovation ideas.  

"I am proud and honored to represent a prestigious, progressive and forward thinking organization as an honorary conference co-chair," commented Earl "Butch" Graves, president and CEO of Black Enterprise instilling words of wisdom and lessons learned along his career path. "We’ve had a longstanding partnership with the NBMBAA and it’s imperative to understand that in business, strategic partners can help to cultivate the success you are looking to achieve. "
 
Jesse Tyson, NBMBAA interim president and CEO, presented the President and CEO’s Awards to Thomas A. & Joyce Moore, owners and operators of BMW and MINI in Sterling, VA; Albert E. Dotson, Jr., received the prestigious distinction for Community and Social Justice Leadership.
 
The Innovation Whiteboard Challenge®, where three finalists competed for $10,000, capped off the luncheon. Competitors had five minutes and the use of a whiteboard to present innovative technology concepts, novel solutions to known problems, new business propositions or other novel ideas to a panel of three talented entrepreneurs – Alfred Edmond, Jr., Rufus Rivers and Navarro Wright— judging the competition.
    
Each of the three finalists for shared their exciting ideas: Bioadhesives Alliance Inc., A Day with Daddy and Medcap.      

The winner was announced later during a Leadership Institute reception. The $10,000 grand prize was awarded to Bioadhesives Alliance Inc., a developer and manufacturer of "PiGrid", bio-based adhesive.
