NAFA Member Carl Nelson Retires From AM-Liner East, Inc.

In late-September, Fleet Manager Carl Nelson announced his retirement from AM-Liner East, Inc. in Berryville, VA. Nelson, a longtime NAFA Member and a Goill Award winner in 2012, said of his decision to leave AM-Liner East: "My blood pressure has already dropped 40 points."

"I finally took a week off a couple weeks ago and so enjoyed the lack of pressures and deadlines, that I took the time to figure if I could afford to go now," Carl said. "My wife and I discussed it thoroughly and decided that it was time."

Carl mentioned his small farm with beef cattle will occupy a lot of his time, "...as there is always something that needs to be done." This does not mean he's stepping entirely away from fleet. "As a matter of fact, I am currently doing research and acting as a subject matter expert for an attorney from Wisconsin with a CDL case he is working on."

Further Carl added, "I have derived a great deal of pleasure over the years mentoring newcomers, and have conducted a considerable amount of training, so any opportunities to help there would be welcome. I would gladly help anyone one who thinks they might benefit from my years of experience."

Carl concluded, "Both NAFA and fleet have been kind to me over the years, so I feel the responsibility to give back, as others have done for me."
