LeasePlan CEO Michael Pitcher Named Center For Professional Fleet Certification (CPFC) Chair

In February, LeasePlan CEO Michael Pitcher was named Chair of NAFA's Center For Professional Fleet Certification (CPFC) Board. CPFC or "the Center" is an alliance of associations, universities, organizations, and companies involved in vehicle fleet management brought together to advance industry professionalism through individual and organizational certification programs.

NAFA's Executive Director Phillip E. Russo, CAE said of Pitcher's acceptance of the Chair, "NAFA is very proud to have someone of Mike's caliber leading the CPFC. He is an extraordinary person, both from a business and personal standpoint, and his leadership skills are well-suited for CPFC and its goals. Mike has a great passion for expanding fleet's prominence in the business and academic worlds, and this position is perfect for him."

The Center exists to advance the vehicle fleet management profession by establishing standards of excellence, certifying attainment of those standards, and promulgating those standards so they attain universal acceptance. The Center is committed to pursuing agreements with fleet industry associations, entities, and institutions of higher education to build a global fleet certification alliance.

Pitcher joined LeasePlan in 2003 as Senior Vice President, Corporate Fleet, and served as Executive Vice President, Corporate Fleet Division, responsible for sales, marketing, operations, and client services from 2005 until 2008, when he assumed his present role of President and CEO.

Prior to joining LeasePlan, Pitcher was with Dell Financial Services (DFS) and Pitney Bowes. At DFS, Pitcher was Vice President of U.S. commercial sales. Prior to DFS, he spent eighteen years with Pitney Bowes, holding various management positions, including two years as President and Managing Director of Pitney Bowes Australia.
