Were You There?
The Signature Series Dinner, "Visit Florida, Paint & Cocktails: Who Could Ask for More?" on February 1 was held as an interactive dinner at The Bram & Bluma Appel Salon in the Toronto Reference Library in downtown Toronto. The dinner invited guests to a night of out-of-the-box activities while being able to interact with fellow members.

The venue was perfect for our sponsors – Visit Florida & Partners – to showcase their destinations across the Sunshine State and mingle with members during the marketplace reception. Presidential Gourmet ensured that all were well-fed with their fantastic fare prior to guests unleashing their inner artists with the Paint & Cocktails team.

Attendees were each provided with two wine glasses and a basic "how-to" introduction for the two themes inspired by the State of Florida. What better way to get inspired about visiting Florida than by experiencing it through art! To view and/or download photography from this event, please click HERE.

Please remember to keep all of our evening’s sponsors in mind when organizing your next event, and don’t forget to let them know that you saw them first at a fantastic MPI Toronto Chapter event! Our thanks to:

The MPI Toronto 2017 Awards Gala, held on March 9 at the Toronto Congress Centre, was a night to remember!! (GMID) Global Meetings Industry Day  Whether you were one of the 276 who joined us face-to-face at the Chelsea Hotel Toronto or tuning in through our Live Stream, Global Meetings Industry Day, held on Thursday, April 6, did not disappoint.

The day started bright and early with a hot breakfast, familiar faces, and some new ones too! We connected via live stream with close to 100 attendees at the London Convention Centre in Ontario to share our day and celebrations. Our Keynote, Humanitarian Stephen Lewis, dug deep when he took the stage to discuss hard hitting global issues such as poverty, war, epidemics and more. Then, our esteemed panel carried on the conversation, giving us their insights on topics such as policies and procedures and food waste at events.

Global Meetings Industry Day has three main objectives: to discuss our future, promote our industry, and realize the benefits we have on the economy. Congratulations to our Influence Award recipient, Metrolinx Union Pearson (UP) Express, for supporting our industry by providing us safe and dependable transportation in order for us to meet Face-to-Face!
