Once again AHR Expo was a success for LonMark International. There were more than 20 members exhibiting throughout the show floor and over 300 in attendance for our education sessions. The well-known L-IP routers have been revamped and come out in new, even more powerful models with a "C": The LIP-3ECTC and LIP-33ECTC (one and two FT ports) and the LIP-1ECTC (TP/XF-1250). They provide all the standard features, including the built-in configuration server, enhanced communications test, backup/restore, remote LPA protocol analyzer, and support for DHCP and extended NAT.

The new LCD display with jog-dial makes device setup easier. The two Ethernet ports can be operated in switch mode and allow a daisy-chain installation, which reduces cabling effort. Project documentation can be stored and accessed directly on the Web interface. A Wireshark packet capture can analyze the IP network and with the LWLAN-800 adapter the L-IPs can even operate on the WLAN!

The built-in firewall and Web interface for installation using HTTPS make the L-IPs secure devices. By configuring separate IP networks on the two Ethernet ports, the building’s CEA-852 network on the LAN can be entirely isolated from the configuration interface on the WAN. This makes security hardening a simple task.

For perfect integration into building management software such as the LWEB-900 by LOYTEC, the new L-IPs offer an embedded OPC UA server with full-featured certificate authentication. This server exposes important operational parameters as OPC tags. For enhanced maintainability by IT departments, the L-IPs also provide the same data through an integrated SNMP server.

LonMark International and LonMark Germany will have a strong presence at the upcoming Light Building show in Frankfurt, Germany, March 13-18, 2016. In the outdoor lighting hall, LonMark International will present the "LonMark Open Smart Streetlight" booth, which will highlight the only open and interoperable Smart Streetlight solution on the market. It will showcase outdoor light point controllers from eight different LonMark-certified vendors, all connected to the same powerline network, managed by a single Central Management Software platform from Streetlight.Vision.

The following LonMark member companies will be co-exhibiting: Adic, Amko, Apanet, Citylone, Devtech M2M, Echelon, Flashnet, Streetlight.Vision and Vossloh Schwabe.

In addition, LonMark Germany will showcase the latest in building automation with a joint presence of two leading standards: LON and BACnet and their organizations LONMARK and BIG-EU. This will be the first time the two standards will be presenting together at a trade show.

With this joint activity, LonMark and BIG-EU will continue to be the point of contact for their respective members; however, through synergy, they will generate more presentation opportunities together.
