 LonMark International is accepting submissions for The "Best of the Year" awards program. The organization will be recognizing companies, projects and individuals in the following areas: the best Multi-Vendor Project, Certified Device and Visionary of the Year. Nominations will be accepted until Oct. 9, 2015. Award winners will be unveiled in the January issue of the LonMark International magazine distributed at the AHR Expo in January. Companies are encouraged to enter products released within the past 12 months. Be sure to submit your entries!

Allgemeine Gewerbeschule (www.agsbs.ch) is a vocational school and training center in the Swiss city of Basel. AGS has 250 teachers providing basic vocational training and advanced education for almost 4,000 apprentices across 50 different professions. During a comprehensive renovation of the exterior building facades throughout the seven-block campus, designed in the 1950s by the Basel architect Hermann Baur and listed as a historic complex, the interior underwent renovation for energy efficiency. The goal for updating the campus technically was to provide a modern learning and working environment for the apprentices and teachers, respectively, while satisfying the high expectations of the city of Basel regarding energy efficiency, sustainability and comfort.

Published once a year and copies distributed at key industry events including AHR Expo and Light+Building, the magazine is a great vehicle for the industry to stay up-to-date on the latest LonMark products and services to hit the market. This year the LonMark Magazine will be available to readers in a fully interactive digital version. Light + Building 2016 (13-18 March 2016) is the world’s leading trade fair for lighting and building services technology. LonMark International will continue its presence at Light+Building 2016 by exhibiting in the Urban Lighting section located in Hall 5 of Messe Frankfurt. At Light+Building 2014 eleven members of LonMark International demonstrated an open Outdoor Control Solution to over 500 hundred potential customers. The demonstration showed LonMark certified products from several competing companies connected together in the same streetlight network. Because of the overwhelming feedback from member companies exhibiting in the stand, LonMark International is pursuing a similar stand and demonstration at Light+Building 2016. For more information please contact Henny@lonmark.org LonMark Germany will also exhibit at the show and will premiere a joint presence of two leading standards for building automation: LON and BACnet and their organizations LONMARK and BIG-EU. This will be the first time the two standards will be presenting together at a trade show. With this joint activity LonMark and BIG-EU will continue to be the point of contact for their respective members, however through synergy they will generate more presentation opportunities together.
