Following on the success of our last anniversary edition, which was well received at the AHR Expo in New York and at Light Building in Frankfurt, we are now preparing for the next edition of the LonMark magazine in time for distribution at the next AHR Expo in Chicago, Jan. 26-28, 2015.

The LonMark Magazine offers LonMark members the opportunity to contribute product or company news, authored articles and case studies. If interested in submitting an article, please submit a 500 word abstract for review no later than Sept. 22, 2014 to shannon@lonmark.org. If accepted, completed articles will be due by Oct. 31, 2014.

LCP Training
This summer, we saw the ramping up of LonWorks Certified Professional (LCP) re-certifications as well as new LCP candidates coming on board. We recently held an online training class for the LCP exam as part of our on-going professional training program. We continue to run online classes providing an overview of control networking LonMark technology. These classes are designed to provide a controls professional with the tools needed to successfully take the LCP exam.

Task Group Activities
Summer has also been a busy time for the Automated Food Service (AFS) task group. Updates to restaurant equipment profiles are currently under review by the task group. We are also trying out a new working format for task group management. Calarasi is another Romanian town to benefit from a remote street lighting management system. Following their first foray into the home market, the Brasov project, Flashnet will install a total of 4,000 inteliLIGHT controllers in Calarasi, thus covering the entire city. As a direct result of the inteliLIGHT®‘s modular implementation procedure, the energy costs decreased by circa 30 percent for the upgraded street lighting segments. Overall operational costs are also expected to decrease by 40 percent through more efficient maintenance and preventive grid interventions.
