LonMark's Ambassador Program

In January of 2012, LonMark International created the LonMark Ambassador Program in an effort to help promote the LonMark message to a broader, worldwide market using local experienced and trained representatives. LonMark Ambassadors are authorized personnel equipped with the skills and tools necessary to deliver the common LonMark message, support local events and activities, and help LonMark grow worldwide.  To date we have four volunteers: 
  • Ron Bernstein (Chief Ambassador)
  • Chuck Holland – USA
  • Martin Mentzel – Germany
  • Victor Cañete – Spain, Mexico, South/Latin America

Below is a brief overview of the assignments our current ambassadors are working on. If you are interested in becoming involved with this program please contact marketing@lonmark.org

Martin Mentzel 
  • Training, testing, proficiency qualifications in central Europe
  • Coordinate with LonMark Germany
  • Coordinate with LON Training and Testing Centers

Victor Cañete
  • Training, testing, proficiency qualifications in Spain, Latin America
  • Coordinate with LonMark Spain
  • Help set up first LonMark Affiliate(s) in L.A – Chile first candidate

Chuck Holland
  • Coordinate US DoD and non-DoD adoption of proficiency requirements for building        contractors.
  • Incorporate requirements into standard USACE Specifications – LMCP, LMCSI
  • Work with USACE Directorship to embrace certifications

Ron Bernstein
  • Specification develop program for next level open specs – Spec 1.5, 2.0a,b,c,d and 3.0
  • Harmonize spec activity with other associations – ASHRAE, ZigBee, OASIS
  • Promote specification adoption with large end users – develop key relationships with influential end users adopting LON
  • Draft Division 25 spec (complete) and solicit input, feedback. Provide draft to LMI Board for review
  • Support joint LMI/ASHRAE effort on jointly published spec – GPC-13 committee with JJR, Mike Gibson.
  • Coordinate activity with TC-247 committee on next level interface above the control level protocol focusing on UI App Interface Model using LonMark Profiles as foundation – SOAP/XML interface model LMI, BACnet, Zigbee and others can adopt.
