Tool Belt Training Sessions - The plan is to deliver training to at least five (5) KSHE member facilities around the state designed specifically for technicians. This training will be based on the top 10 findings during surveys as identified by CMS in the physical environment. Some of these items are: Rated Doors, Egress, Hazardous Spaces, Fire Alarm Systems, etc… This training will be provided at no cost. The first training was already delivered at Owensboro Health on December 21 on rated doors per NFPA 80- 2016. Contact a KSHE board member for more details or scheduling.

Spring/Fall CHC Training – This year KSHE will offer two(2) full day training sessions for contractors seeking to obtain or renew their Certified Healthcare Contractor status. The three redesigned sessions delivered in 2017 received very positive feedback and excellent suggestions that will continue to improve this very timely and high quality certification. The first session will be offered March 9, 2018, while the second session will be held during the Healthcare Coalition Conference in Owensboro this fall.

Codes, Compliance, and Accreditation Conference – Similar to the event held in Lexington this past December. This all day session is designed to keep healthcare facilities professions up to date and prepared for upcoming changes to codes, compliance, and accreditation. The timing of this conference gives the healthcare facilities professional the very first opportunity to hear from code experts on upcoming changes in the new year.

Emergency Management Expansion Training – To be held in coordination with the Healthcare Coalition Conference in Owensboro, this training track is designed to help healthcare facilities who have been recently impacted by the CMS emergency preparedness requirements that went into effect November of 2017. Facilities such as Long Term Care, Dialysis Centers, Residential Living, and Home Health and others are just beginning to understand the enormous impact of emergency management preparedness expansion and compliance. National, State, and local experts and vendors will present and provide timely information and resources. This is a great community outreach event!!!

We hope you see the value of KSHE membership and are able to participate in these upcoming events. Please pass these educational opportunities along to others that would benefit from them.
