Last month, we announced some excellent educational opportunities being held in Owensboro and Lexington. We also made a big announcement regarding the release of CHT version 2.0. During this issue, we would like to share some very important updates.

The Life Safety and Joint Commission update seminar on December 7, 2017 will be in Lexington. You may have heard that George Mills has left the Joint Commission. Mr. John Maurer is his interim replacement and will be presenting on behalf of The Joint commission. Expect not just a review of recent changes, but also a number of updates for 2018 standards. We will also have the pleasure of hearing from Ms. Sharon Gilyeat of Koffel Associates on more specific life safety code changes. Please take advantage of this very timely, accessible, and relevant education. Seating will be limited to approximately 150 people, so be sure to register early.

Last month it was mentioned that Version 2.0 of CHT online is now available. At this time we are extremely proud to announce that CHT has been rebranded and renamed as Safe Day One(SD1) Healthcare Orientation and Safety Training. It is critical that those who enter our facilities are aware of the unique challenges and safety concerns of healthcare. Safe Day One delivers a very high level of training while at the same provides a mechanism to track those that have been trained for credentialing purposes. Safe Day One is being launched nationally! As of this writing Texas and Virginia are piloting Safe Day One for contractors, vendors, and technicians in their states. We believe Safe Day One will reach thousands who have never received healthcare orientation and safety training. We cannot wait to be safe one day, we need to be Safe Day One!

Also mark your calendars and communicate to anyone you know that is interested or needs KSHE Certified Healthcare Contractor training. This is our third training this year around the state. CHC training will be held in Owensboro, KY on November 2.
