The Annual ASHE Conference, held in Indianapolis earlier this month, saw more than 4,000 people in attendance. KSHE had strong representation with more members present than I have ever witnessed at one of these events. On behalf of KSHE, I formally accepted the Platinum Elite Chapter Award which you all made possible with your support of the Energy to Care program. I was honored to address the other Chapters in our Region and share the awesome, progressive programs Kentucky has developed and initiated. The members of KSHE should be very proud that Kentucky leads the Nation on several fronts. I can honestly say from my heart that I am very proud and thankful for the opportunity to serve you and to work with such a dynamic Board who are dedicated to improving Healthcare.

Speaking of your Board, I can promise you they are working feverishly to put the final touches on our own Healthcare Coalition Conference. The quality of this conference is second to none. Nationally ranked speakers have been scheduled to bring you the latest in education and the developing changes which affect your daily work life. Chad Hymas opens our conference on Wednesday. Chad will provide a refreshing and inspiring look at life. James Kendig, of the Joint Commission, will discuss the latest changes and interpretations of the regulatory world of healthcare. Mike Rust, KHA President, will present a “State of the State” overview of healthcare in Kentucky. Shay Rankhorn, ASHE Region 3 Leader, is set to provide a means of managing compliance. And Shauna Weiss, of Environmental Technologies, will interpret the new requirements regarding water quality management......not to mention the dozen break out speakers ready present progressive concepts in managing the physical environment, a more than full vendor hall, Tuesday golf tournament and Fun!

I look forward to seeing each and every one of you in Lexington. Please make time for this most important opportunity to acquire education, see the newest products, develop new contacts and see old friends. I promise, you won’t be disappointed!
