KCMPI 3rd Annual Trivia Night

KCMPI members and friends enjoyed the Third Annual Trivia Night on November 13 at the Hilton Kansas City Airport. Attendees were treated to a buffet dinner and host bar, compliments of the Airport Hilton. There was an opportunity to tour the Hilton’s renovated guest rooms and function space during the cocktail hour.

Thanks to everyone who brought warm winter pajamas to donate to Rose Brooks Center, an organization that provides emergency shelter to women and children escaping life-threatening abuse. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

Brad Plumb with the Overland Park Convention and Visitors Bureau was the emcee for the evening. KCMPI President Karen Hoch, Lori Haskell of the Hilton Kansas City Airport and Olivia Hall of the Tempe, Arizona Tourism Office each made a few comments to start the evening.

Let the games begin! The rules were presented, the judges/scorers introduced and team captains and team names selected. Then the teams got down to business. No resources or electronic devices were allowed – only sheer brain power. The evening consisted of eight rounds with 10 questions per round. The trivia questions covered various subjects from Sports to History. The competition was fierce but the mood was lighthearted.

The Trivia Night Champions this year were from the Hotel Phillips. Everyone sitting at the champion’s table received a Tech Bag provided by Branding Stop that included a portable charger, iWallet, all-in-one pen, stylus, LED light and zipper pouch.

The second place team received $20 gift certificates to the Boulevard Grill at the Four Points Sheraton Kansas City Airport.

The third place team received a free game of bowling or bocce at Pinstripes, as well as a bracelet good for a glass of house wine on every future visit.

There were also numerous raffle prizes including a Tempe, Arizona, package of hotel accommodations, a restaurant gift certificate and attraction admission. Other raffle prizes were one night stays at the Four Points by Sheraton at the KC Airport, the Residence Inn by Marriott, Holiday Inn & Suites Convention Center Overland Park and The Elms Hotel & Spa.
