I. Experienced Event Planner Sought

POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Event Planner - West STATUS: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Chief Marketing Officer DEPARTMENT: Marketing and Business Development


FUNCTIONAL ROLE
The Event Planner is responsible for all activities as they relate to the development, negotiation, execution and follow through of special firm and client events.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide overall logistic management for client-focused firm events and seminars. Responsibilities include contract negotiations with facility and food providers; selection and coordination of sites and facilities; management and coordination of all event details; develop and enforce schedules and deadlines; onsite support.

• Participate in initial planning sessions with attorneys, practice groups, business development team members and other firm personnel.

• Maintain branded style in all event materials consistent with firm's graphic standards.

• Prepare event evaluation report and event ROI analysis. Report shall include assessment of quality of invitation list, quality of attendance, opinion of attorney/client interaction, cost to budget analysis, and event results.

• Maintain master calendar of events and coordinate calendar with Business Development Directors, Chief Marketing Officer, and other appropriate firm personnel.

• Develop and manage budget for special events in conjunction with Chief Marketing Officer.

• Prepare annual master event budget and review with Chief Marketing Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
• Bachelor's degree in marketing/communications or related area.

• 5-7 years of current relevant meeting/event management experience; Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) designation a bonus.

• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with little direct supervision

• Strong organizational planning and multi-tasking abilities

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to work with and manage cross-functional teams to reach common project goals

• Strong negotiation skills

• Ability to travel to events as needed; occasional weekends required

• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite required

II. Hotel Sales Manager Needed

We are currently seeking a Hotel Sales Manager to join our team. This person will be responsible for driving sales through a combination of outside sales calls, telephone prospecting calls, conducting site visits and networking within the local community.

Job Requirements
Solicit new and existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals through telephone prospecting calls, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication.

Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to all departments in the hotel to ensure high quality of service to customers.

Prepare correspondence to customers, internal booking reports and file maintenance.

Attend trade shows, community events and industry meetings.

Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.

Experience, Skills and Knowledge

High school or equivalent education required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

2+ years of past sales experience mandatory.

Requires good communication skills to be concise, well organized, complete, and clear - both verbal and written.

Must possess extensive computer skills, including, but not limited to, use of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Must be able to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple tasks.

Must be outgoing and a proven self-starter that is able to set priorities, plan, organize, and delegate.

Advanced knowledge of market trends a plus.

Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.

Command of the English language both written and verbal.
