Field 2 Table -- A Success!

The event took place on Thursday, September 24 under a beautiful fall sky, among green pastures as the cattle kept a close watch on the evening activities.  The sounds of Acoustic Renderings, guitar duo, added to the casual, yet elegant, atmosphere of the evening.

The F2T committee and Chef Kurt Wolfe, of Food Montage, Inc., succeeded in providing a meal created with ingredients that were cultivated within 100 miles of the Wolfe Farm, the event location.  Throughout the night, guests enjoyed wines from the local vineyard, Baltimore Bend.  Hors d'oeuvres of fresh tomato, basil and mozzarella relish on bruschetta and lamb empanadas were passed prior to the harvest-style meal.  The dinner started with butternut squash soup, followed by a salad of fresh greens, diced apples, candied pecans and apple cider vinaigrette. The main course featured braised free-range chicken, beef braciola, green beans amandine and red potatoes with fresh dill.  The evening concluded with dessert, featuring cake and homemade vanilla ice cream topped with brandied peaches.
