Name, Title and Company: Karen Hoch Managing Director, Adult Programs People to People International (PTPI)
Job description: I manage and coordinate conferences and meetings (domestic and international) for PTPI, a not-for-profit membership based organization with the purpose of bridging cultures among people. In addition, I am responsible for overseeing PTPI's community chapters in the Americas Region.
Years involved in KCMPI: It will be six years in October 2009.
KCMPI committees I have served on:
I began my KCMPI career by serving on the Program Committee and from then I was hooked. I have served two years as VP of Communications and will serve as your President Elect for 2009-2010.
What I enjoy best about the hospitality industry: I love the variety each day brings, working with details, and most especially the people I have met from around the globe.
Activities I enjoy outside of work:
I love to spend time with my son Luc, am addicted to running, get re-energized by yoga, and have a passion to explore all parts of the world.
Anything else you'd like to add?
My advice is to get involved with KCMPI! Volunteer on a committee - it can be as little as an hour or as much as you have time for. There truly is a fit for everyone. Our Chapter is a group of fabulous, intelligent professionals who are eager to excel in the hospitality industry. Don't sit on the sidelines ... evolve to greatness with KCMPI. |
