Shari Hockenbery, CMP, is currently a Program Specialist in charge of the administration of the Parker B. Francis Fellowship Program at the Francis Family Foundation. For the past 12 years, her duties at this Kansas City, Mo., based charitable organization have also included communication and meeting planning. Hockenbery has enjoyed a 24-year career in meeting planning, communication, marketing and journalism after receiving a bachelor of science degree in journalism from the University of Kansas in 1981. To achieve a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation, she joined the Kansas City Chapter of Meeting Professionals International (KCMPI) in 2004. Since then, Hockenbery has served KCMPI as Programs Committee Co-Chair, Director of Leadership and currently as Vice President of Education. She and her husband and two teenage sons live in Overland Park, Kan.
