New Offering at ISTAT Asia

ISTAT Asia is excited to add an additional event to the schedule, clay shooting at the ISSF Clay Target Range at Singapore Gun Club on Sunday, 10 May. Join fellow attendees and Australian two-time Olympic Gold Medal shooter, Mr. Michael Diamond, to shoot at clay targets in a fun setting with a variety of target presentations. Airbus Group has been named the most sought after employer among students at France’s leading engineering universities, according to the 2015 surveys by renowned employer branding consultancies Universum Global and Trendence. The company has also been voted the most attractive company by the French general public in 2015, according to the sixth Randstad Awards survey.
 
The focus on safety in the airline industry continues to climb with recent tragedies, and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced Tuesday that it had launched the IATA Standard Safety Assessment (ISSA).
 
Low cost carriers don’t want IFE systems. They are complicated, expensive and heavy. They create maintenance challenges and support issues. This is the story we’ve all been told and sold for years. Lumexis launched the iPAX IFE solution this week at the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg with an eye towards rewriting that story with a rather different ending.

Boeing Capital Corporation has named Jordan Weltman vice president and global head of Customer Finance, and Thomas Hansen vice president of Asset Management. Boeing Capital Corporation is a wholly-owned Boeing [NYSE: BA] subsidiary that is primarily responsible for arranging, structuring and providing financing for Boeing’s commercial airplane, space and defense products.
 
Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. (AEI) is pleased to announce that it has delivered the 50th B737-400SF 11 pallet position freighter conversion. The aircraft built in 1992 (MSN 26437) is a high gross weight B737-400 and was delivered to Ypsilanti, Michigan based Kalitta Charters. This represents an important milestone in AEI’s freighter conversion history. Orders continue to remain strong as AEI has another 15 B737-400SF freighters on order for this year. The aircraft was converted at Commercial Jet’s Dothan, Alabama facility.
 
GA Telesis Engine Services Ltd ("GATES") has exceeded its production and performance goals for the first quarter of 2015, having one of its most active quarters since opening. GATES produced eight engines and inducted eight more since January. In addition the company completed a CFM56-5B performance workscope in an industry leading turnaround time of 47 days. GATES also added two new customers to its customer list last quarter, providing additional opportunities for increasing its 2015 production.
 
GE Capital Aviation Services Limited (GECAS), the commercial aircraft leasing arm of GE, announced delivery of a new, next-generation Boeing 737-800 aircraft to flydubai following a purchase and leaseback transaction. The aircraft expands flydubai’s fleet and was part of the airline’s existing order book with Boeing.
 
Precision Aircraft Solutions is pleased to announce its new agreement with HAECO Americas, a part of the HAECO Group and based in Greensboro, NC, USA. The combined endeavor builds on Precision’s longstanding relationship with HAECO Xiamen, site of numerous Precision 757 freighter conversions.

Reflektive How can you create an engaging culture at work? This million (or actually multi-billion) dollar question is constantly being asked and revisited by companies globally, large and small. Building an engaging culture is crucial to a company’s sustained success: Gallup estimates that disengaged workforces are costing companies over $450 billion in lost productivity per year and 95% of employees say that culture is more important than compensation.
 
Harvard Business Review The research: André Spicer, a professor at Cass Business School at City University London, conducted a cultural and historical analysis of ideas about wellness in companies (which he published in a recent book, The Wellness Syndrome, coauthored by Stockholm University’s Carl Cederström). He concluded that corporate wellness programs not only provide low returns on investment but actually backfire, making many employees less healthy and more anxious about their jobs.
 
Inc. Some people fall prey to chronic procrastination and fail to turn their intentions into actions. Others consistently power through low-energy moments and lead more impactful lives. What separates these two groups? According to a growing body of academic evidence, the divide is not some unchangeable character trait; it's our habit, and habits are flexible.
