Luxaviaton Group (www.luxaviation.com) announced that Luxembourgish Yves Germeaux joined the business aviation group on 6 October 2014 as chief financial officer. The appointment of a senior financial expert with a strong experience in the aviation sector demonstrates Luxaviation Group’s level of maturity within its growth phase and its willingness to establish strong leadership teams.

Yves Germeaux will have the role of overseeing the global finances of the group. His appointment will bring valuable experience from his previous companies, especially Luxembourg-based Cargolux. In his former role as VP corporate finance at Cargolux, he headed the aircraft financing, business planning, treasury and financial risk management activities and was also actively involved in the company’s fleet planning and strategic projects.

Patrick Hansen, CEO of Luxaviation Group says: "I am extremely pleased to welcome Yves Germeaux as our chief financial officer. Yves has 20 years of strategic finance experience in large corporations, including a key role as VP corporate finance of Cargolux. I am beyond confident that Yves will be a major asset to our business as we continue on our steep international growth trajectory and our market-leading operations in Germany, France, Belgium, Luxembourg and the UK."

Prior to joining Cargolux in 2002, Germeaux was head of corporate finance at Luxembourg-based steel group Arbed (now Arcelor Mittal). His education includes a Master of Science in banking and finance from HEC Lausanne in association with the Anderson Business School at the University of California Los Angeles, a Master in Law from the Université Robert Schuman in Strasbourg and a Master of Science in economic sciences from HEC Lausanne.

At 45 years old, Germeaux is regularly invited to speak at major aviation finance events and conferences. Since 1996 Germeaux has been a lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance at the University of Luxembourg.

Luxaviation Group ranks as one of Europe’s largest business and private aviation companies, operating more than 90 business aviation jets and offering the expertise and knowhow of 470 employees across five European operating companies: Luxaviaton (Luxembourg), Luxaviation Germany (Germany), Abelag (Belgium), Unijet (France) and London Executive Aviation ‘LEA’ (UK).
