Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) Exam Preparation – 3/1/13
Fox Valley Park District, Prisco Community Center
10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Certification is important to demonstrate that you have an understanding of the basic competencies needed to be successful in the park and recreation profession. In addition, maintaining the certification shows you have a willingness to continue to learn and grow throughout your career. This workshop consists of four sections and will prepare you to become a Certified Park & Recreation Professional.

Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Workshop - 3/14-3/15
Holiday Inn - Skokie

To pass the course and earn the CPO Certification, each person will be required to pass the open book test with a score of 75% or better. Becoming familiar with the CPO manual and, as the course progresses, making notes on where to find various information, will allow each participant to key his/her efforts on mastering areas of difficulty. Highlighting or marking key areas of information will eliminate the need to waste time blindly paging through the reference text during the test.

Leadership in Changing Times

As communities change and the demands on the recreation and parks sector increase, there must be a corresponding adjustment in how those in the sector operate their departments, mobilize community resources and engage and lead staff. Today’s effective leader has the ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups with different backgrounds, talent, experiences and interests and marshal them towards a common goal. They can form partnerships and build consensus. They tap into the collective intelligence and energy of all stakeholders and act as a catalyst to get things done.

Designed specifically for those in the recreation and parks sector, this full-day workshop touches the hearts and minds of some of the most important people in our communities: recreation and parks professionals.
